My Tourism and Hospitality Innovation Story

My name is Mohammad Najafi, although many know me simply as Mo. Being a redhead has always made me stand out, and instead of hiding it, I chose to embrace it. Last year I even joined RedHead Days 2024 in the Netherlands as a volunteer, celebrating identity and community with people from all over the world. That moment reflected how I approach life and work: with pride in being different and with a passion for connecting people through meaningful experiences.

My professional journey started years ago in Iran. I dedicated myself to designing, supervising, and executing adventure tours in deserts, mountains, and remote cultural sites. These tours were never just about travel. They were about creating authentic connections between people, nature, and culture. Along the way, I also discovered the power of storytelling. At first, Mohammad Najafi produced travel content as an amateur, capturing moments with my camera. Later, I collaborated with national television in Iran and developed professional travel programs. Eventually, I launched my own YouTube channel, Persian Tourism, where I continue to share unique stories from my journeys.

Since 2014, he has carried the idea of Persian Tourism Service, and in 2016, with the help of his small team, the company’s website was launched. At first, the focus was on providing accurate information and producing authentic content. Later, with the support of volunteers from four different countries, the business expanded and began offering adventure tours that very few had ever offered. From the very beginning, sustainable tourism and hospitality have been guiding principles of his work.

Education

To deepen my knowledge and expand my vision, I came to Europe to study Tourism and Hospitality Innovation. This master’s program is special because it combines three different degrees into one transformative path.

Mohammad Najafi – Tourism and Hospitality Innovation student and adventure travel expert
  • At Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, I studied Tourism Destination Management, building a strong academic foundation.
  • In Croatia, I continued with Sustainable Outdoor Hospitality Management, where I learned about campsite operations through real projects and field visits.
  • At the University of Girona in Spain, I am now studying Tourism Management and Planning, where I will also write my thesis and graduate.

Between these studies, Mo completed a traineeship at a five-star campsite. This hands-on experience gave me valuable insights into campsite management, guest relations, and the challenges of running outdoor hospitality on a large scale.

Looking back, I see how my experiences come together: entrepreneurship, content creation, adventure tourism, and campsite management. This combination is my strength. Today, my focus is on developing experiential travel and innovative camping concepts that bring people closer to nature while supporting sustainable tourism.
